I’m Hu Shenyue. In the industry, people call me “The Furnace Whisperer” — not because I talk to machines, but because after 25 years, I’ve learned to listen to what they tell me.
My career began in the early 2000s, as a maintenance technician in a Chinese foundry. I was in my twenties, with a toolbox and a lot of questions. That’s where I learned the most important lesson: furnaces don’t fail without warning. They give you signs. You just have to know where to look.
By my thirties, I had become an aluminium melting furnace maintenance engineer, working with international companies across China. I was involved in design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of almost every type of furnace — crucible, reverberatory, rotary, induction, gas-fired, electric, tower, twin-chamber, holding, and dosing. Each one taught me something new.
For the last ten years, I’ve shifted my focus to furnace selection and sales. I help foundries choose the right equipment for their specific needs — not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but the one that fits. I’ve worked with clients in Southeast Asia, India, the UK, and Europe, and I understand the different requirements and regulations across these markets.
I started this blog because I saw too many foundry managers and engineers struggling with the same problems I had already solved. Most online information is either too vague, too promotional, or simply wrong. So I decided to share what I’ve learned — practical, field-tested knowledge that you can apply today.
